BETA Contemporary Art Gallery is thrilled to announce the opening of its new gallery in Barcelona with El Carinyo, Miriam Dema’s (b. 1995 in Barcelona, Spain) solo exhibition debut with the gallery. At the heart of Miriam Dema's artistic process lies a deliberate fusion between lived experience and artistic practice.

Here, the boundaries between the two realms blur, each informing the other, and fueling a process in which present experiences, distant memories, and powerful emotions create layers of meaning in compositions that burst with vibrant colors, vivid textures, and varying perspectives.

.MUDA
Carlos Herraiz

Our first venture into the cultural landscape in Barcelona is ‘Muda’, a solo exhibition of a new body of work by Carlos Herraiz.

Through his passage through different cities, Carlos Herraiz has collected an archive of textiles of diverse origins. Sheets; tablecloths, old paintings, fabrics transformed by rust and mould, buried fabrics, scraps and remnants of clothes returned by the sea tide, discolored by the sun, and inherited clothes, form a textile collection in which they act as mementos, or self-referential elements of each one of the experiences in the places where they were found.
