“This work refers to the original design of the artist and printmaker Günter Fruhtrunk, who in 1970s was asked by the German discounter Aldi to use his iconic Op-Art paintings as a design for the supermarket plastic bags. This commissioned work shows the relationship between artworks and brands; at this time a not very well seen move by artist but nowadays a common approach to work with bigger brands. I chose this bag, because it is the last plastic bag before the company decided to abandon it from its shelf in 2019.” - Tobias Molitor

Molitor’s works are about everyday products and traces of usage, which are often perceived in the subconscious. The focus is based on the materialism and shape of the products as well as haptics which occur by appliance. The works are based on digital photography and screen printing.
