ARTIST'S NOTE:

“I remember buying my T-Shirts at American Apparel because I liked the fact that all clothes were just monochrome with no visible name. Almost like a pantone color palette one could choose between a big selection of different T-Shirts. American Apparel was found 1989 in Los Angeles but closed its brands in Europe in 2015 due to bankruptcy. The design shows different names of major capitals around the world, where the companies stores have been located. Plastic bags are connected to specific places, and stand for a physical memory you can keep.” - Tobias Molitor

Molitor’s works are about everyday products and traces of usage, which are often perceived in the subconscious. The focus is based on the materialism and shape of the products as well as haptics which occur by appliance. The works are based on digital photography and screen printing.
