ARTIST'S NOTE:

“This work represents a shopping bag from a souvenir shop in Paris, France. I got the bag when buying postcards in the shop on a trip to Paris, freshly impressed by the simple and representative design of the bag, which is connected to the ‘one and only’ tourist attraction of Paris: the Eifel tour. Souvenirs are usually evidence of places one has visited and are consumed to save memories and experiences one has made to either share it with somebody else or for oneself. Even a plastic bag can function as a souvenir and there are many people who keep plastic bags for exactly this reason. This work tries also to reflect on the fact,  that even cities themselves and their titles become brands.” - Tobias Molior

Molitor’s works are about everyday products and traces of usage, which are often perceived in the subconscious. The focus is based on the materialism and shape of the products as well as haptics which occur by appliance. The works are based on digital photography and screen printing.
