SeekWisdom Bag

ARTIST'S NOTE:

“The work relates to a plastic bag from Africa. An artist friend named Betty Stürmer has been involved in a scholarship project in Ghana, where she got the bag from. She used the bag as a reference for her projects, since the shapes and colors where unique and inspiring to her work. When I got the bag there were some green color spots left on it. I like the fact that the marks occurred randomly and that they represent the past life experience of an object. For that very reason, I kept them and included the green spots in the final print version.”  - Tobias Molitor

Molitor’s works are about everyday products and traces of usage, which are often perceived in the subconscious. The focus is based on the materialism and shape of the products as well as haptics which occur by appliance. The works are based on digital photography and screen printing.
