ARTIST'S NOTE:

“Beate was born on October 25th, 1919 in Germany as Beate Köstlin. Beate started her first career as a pilot and in 1939 she married her stunt-piloting instructor, Hans-Jürgen Uhse, who she had a son with. When her husband died in a flight accident the next year she was promoted to the rank of captain of the Luftwaffe in 1944. As a former pilot for the German army, Uhse was no longer allowed to fly after World War II. She moved to Flensburg with her son founded her own business named Beate Uhse Mail Order Co. in 1951. Even though she had to fight many legal charges by the government, it did not stop her to expand her mail service with other products like condoms and books on marital hygiene. The striking demand and success of these articles finally led to the opening of the worlds' first sex shop in 1969.” - Tobias Molior

Molitor’s works are about everyday products and traces of usage, which are often perceived in the subconscious. The focus is based on the materialism and shape of the products as well as haptics which occur by appliance. The works are based on digital photography and screen printing.
